still setting up

blog isn’t 100% set up yet so bare with me as I fix bits but thought I would move it anyway.

A new little brother or sister for my boys…

no I’m not pregnant – not possible….so guess who?

nothing too surprising….doesn’t really change much – someone will have to buy a van lol!
so onto something much more interesting ….I had the BEST weekend! Was sooo good to kick back with my friends and relax and shop and laugh and shop and chat and shop!  A bit sad that I missed Linda and Virginia though.  A few of us went out for dinner afterwoods and were thoroughly spoilt…a funny cab ride back the car capped of an awesome evening!
The top50 stand went really well – lots of interest and I was surprisingly relaxed once we got going – yes talking is something I’m usually pretty good at but talking to strangers is a bit harder!  Anyway it was good and Judith did a great job especially in directing traffic and bringing other stand holders over to the stand.

The next stage of the top50 additions is almost ready so stay tunned  – will be awesome and more is coming – so many ideas rolling around in my head.

Hosting people have come up with a plan for top50 to cope better with the traffic it is getting so we will be moving forward with that shortly. Onwards and upwards I say!

Feeling refreshed…..and ready to go!

After a somewhat rocky start (due to not being able to stop coughing etc for a little while) had a fabulous time today Scrappin with Trish. I got a whole TWO Layouts done – and both are really simple ones at that but I had a great time just sitting queitly and scrappin (cause I don’t talk much)……….oh ok so I might have talked a little bit!

Was great to meet Trish and to catch up with lots of old friends…also great to meet Sally from Scrapshop

and here are my days efforts…with thanks again to Pam for the photos!

Oh and I even won a prize in a raffle – a cute little pair of tins….and I bought some gorgeous stamps from Autumn Leaves the flourishes!

scrapping ….

I havne’t been finding as much time to scrap as I would like…thankfully I have some good friends who encourage me to take a night off from work and play…it’s good for the soul.

I actually signed up for a class at Big Picture Scrapbooking which has been fun too. We had an online chat and luckily the timing was perfect as while all the US ladies were putting their kids to bed I had two at daycare and one napping and was enjoying the gorgeous sunshine coming through my scraproom door! We were chatting – amongst other things – about how much we loved getting parcels of scrapping goodies…and so ….tonight I did this…good for the soul – even if it is downright silly!

and on that note it is downright silly to still be up right now as kids don’t yet understand the term ‘sleep in’ so i had best be off.

Saw surgeon – had even told the kids it would be a long wait…walk in empty waiting room in and out in 20minutes!

verdict…tricky, very tricky. Basically there is an extra ‘flap’ of skin that needs to be removed but just doing so without due care there would be a good chance of cutting off the circulation to other areas…nasty very nasty. Will be waiting a long time before next op..how long? no idea! Paddy says that by the time it has grown enough to be ready to op then Owen will WANT to have it done (as in by then he will know it is ‘different’) so I guess one less thing I have to try to explain …for now. Not looking forward to the discussion the day he realises his IS ‘different’ but deal with it when it comes….the good news is that Paddy is still confident of a ‘good result’ in the long term.

other news – business cards are ready for printers woohoo DebF is a bloody marvel!
and I lashed out and ordered new bras (from the states cause I am size bloody huge) so they should be hear by xmas…by which time Corey will be well and truely weaned too! now must stop spending up!

How and when to expain things to a child?

ok most people I know would know that Owen was born with a severe case of hypospaidies (which is basically a malformation of the penis – it means the hole isn’t at the end but on the underside – his was almost at the base of his penis). Owen had his first op a week b4 he turned one followed by emergency surgery in the early hours of the morning due to complications….he then had another one about 6 months later and then a further one another 6 months or so again. We have always known that he would need more down the track to make it look ‘normal’ so I don’t know why suddenly it would seem a problem! But you see with Owen’s speech and language delays I’ve never really had to explain it to him. Today he is going to see the surgeon and I told him the dr wants to look at his penis and explained that he might need to have another operation on it but he doesn’t understand why – he tells me it works that it isn’t broken….how to explain to a nearly 5yr old that his penis doesn’t look ‘normal’ when he hasn’t worked that out for himself yet?! So I guess we wait and see – chances are that Paddy (surgeon) will say see you in another year…but then he has in the past said ‘how about tuesday?’ (in which case I would have to say please NO wait til next month)!….wait and see…wait and see…

in the mean time I leave you with one last observation….

Three boys under 5yrs old are LOUD!…..wonder if i can pick up some earplugs

Stop the world I wanna get off!

hey I’m sure we have all had moments when we have thought that!

you know what I love about Scrapbooking though….

it reminds me that while sometimes it is one hell of a ride….i really don’t want to stop it and I don’t want to get off!

Been looking through my albums a bit as I put them in order and wow it’s nice to be reminded that life really is pretty darn good.

so next time you want to hide from your children (or worse) think back to that unasked for cuddle…think about those skinny arms wrapped around your neck and how good it felt……….and smile…cause really life is good and kids are worth every single one of those ‘stop the world’ moments………

ok so I’ve borrowed a slogan….

but I did….the other day I bit the bullet and sent an email and this morning I had a reply of ‘yes’…so I sat at my computer and my head did full circles as I contemplated the reality of what I had done….omg sounds soooo serious and dangerous doesn’t it…and yet really what I did was ….

book a stand for top50 at the trade show at Paperific Melbourne !

So I’ll be there on Friday in the trade show bit, with the laptop and stuff woohoo! Am excited and nervous at the same time! I have a tonne of things to do but hey busy is good isn’t it?!

Also…I put Corey in his own room yesterday! He is sleeping through the night now! woohoo again! BIG NEWS he is also drinking regular cows milk, cold from the fridge, out of a spill proof cup! He is still being breastfed a couple of times a day but will start a gradual weaning process so that he is weaned in time for me to go on the very special getaway melb cup weekend…

So my plans for the next month

7th – bday party for a friend
8th – TOP50 CYBERCROP – come and join us!
15th I’m SCrappin all day here
21st Corey turns one – going to thomas’s big day out
22nd Maccas party for Owen (& Corey)
23rd Owen turns FIVE
27th trade show at paperific
29th visiting paperific
3rd – getaway weekend

so there you go apparently I do have a life afterall…and on that note I will leave with one final thought…..

Not everyone likes me….and you know what….I’m ok with that!

Kinder tomorrow…

where oh where does the time go?!

I made so many plans in my head about these school holidays and we didn’t actually get to many of them! oh well there will be other times to go and do stuff.

So kinder starts again tomorrow morning…back to the frantic up and organised and out early…I really hope I can be organised enough to leave with time to WALK instead of driving…I find somehow the walk soothes me a bit…so long as i’m not stressing out about him being late for kinder!

I have been flat out with top50 and stuff lately although I’m not sure that I’m actually making any progress sometimes! Hopefully I am.

Also I’ve been thinking a little lately that I tend to get focused on the things that stress me out etc etc….and I think that instead I should remind myself of the things that made me HAPPY today…
